My Story

NOTE: Please read our entire write-up before contacting us. If you don't know the age, breed, weight, what vet care we provide our dogs, the adoption fee, or how to apply, you have not read the write-up. Ember Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Visla mix? Gender: Male, neutered DOB: 6-25-2019 Weight: ~18 pounds Microchipped Adoption Fee: $300 Ember loves his people. He's dedicated to them and enjoys being with them. He can also hang out in another room, explore his yard, and keep himself entertained. He's a soulful little guy. While Ember loves his family, he still experiences stranger danger with guests. He will bark and needs to be handled with leadership and directions. If he's told what to do, and guests are encouraged to ignore him and not engage him, he does well. He's not a dog you can just walk up to and pet without having spent time with him and gained his trust. Ember does have some vision challenges.. He has cloudy lenses and a small cataract in one eye. His eye doctor does not feel he needs any further care at this time, but his eyes will need to be monitored as he ages. His night vision is not as good as daylight. However, he navigates his home easily day and night once he knows it. He does well with rules and high expectations for good behavior. He does best with a confident handler who tells Ember what to do and when. He thrives in an environment with clear leadership. While Ember enjoys being with other dogs, we think he might do quite well in a home as an only dog. He hangs out with dogs, follows dogs, but doesn't really play with them. If there ARE other dogs in the home, they need to be polite and well socialized, as Ember is not a fan of barky, snippy, and rude dogs!
