Randy

The sweetest of dogs, Randy, who is a two year Border Collie mix with a calm, friendly demeanour with all people. He came to us for medical attention as he had an unfortunate run in with a porcupine. Even when Randy was in pain, all he wanted was to be near us to receive reassurance and pets. He was such a trooper, being the best boy during treatment and he is now feeling a lot better. Randy was primarily an outside dog before coming into our care, but so far, he has transitioned well to living indoors. Though we do not have much insight on how he is in a home, he's a pretty relaxed guy for the most part and would likely figure out the routine once given some time to settle in. Randy has done well on walks with older kids and we think he could make a great family dog as he has relatively good manners and is one of our lower energy dog's available. When meeting new people, he gets excited and wiggles, but is gentle and welcomes all the attention he can get. Randy has a true love for belly rubs, and touching him is like pressing a button that makes him lose all leg control, flopping onto the ground into a puddle of snuggles. For those specifically looking for a highly affectionate couch potato, Randy would be your guy! Though Randy is great with people, he is selective with other dogs and currently only has a select few that he enjoys walking beside. He generally likes to have his own personal space and likes other calm dogs that don't rush up on him. We feel he'd likely prefer to be the only dog in the home, however we're still getting to know him and he may accept another dog if it is a good match.
