Pyxie

Pixie is a 6yr old pure yellow lab and one of 5 dogs surrendered from a home in West Central Florida. 2 young girls were taking care of their mother and the mother owned the home and unfortunately, when the mother passed one daughter who had an outside job was unable to provide enough income for the mortgage and the daughter. That was a full-time caretaker for the mother for over a year. Had not been able to seek outside employment post their mother's passing. Unfortunately, due to the fact that they did not have enough income combined between the 2 daughters. They were forced to surrender their home and with that. They were only capable of taking two dogs with them when they moved to Alabama. Originally it had been there were 2 chihuahuas that were seniors that were posted on craigslist, that I inquired about and upon hearing their story, I asked them what else they had and they told me they had a yellow Labrador and a 2 and a 1/2 year old terrier mix that was dumped over their fence. They also had asked me if I could take Pyxies daughter, who is half catahoula (Luna 4yrs). I agreed to take 4 of the dogs which included the yellow lab material mix and the 2 chihuahuas. When I met them to pick them up, they had brought Luna, the daughter, and I agreed to take her as well. Luna is pretty attached to her mom, and if somebody were able to take both of them, it would be marvelous. However it is not mandatory. I know many would be deterred by the fact that she is 6 years old but I can tell you that this dog is in great shape. She was very well taken care of and she is very active for a six-year-old dog. She's house broken. She's crate trained and she's all around a great dog and gets along with pretty much every dog that we put her near.
