Meet precious Sammy!We’re not sure but we think he is a Pit Bull mix – maybe mixed with Boxer? – so I am hoping he will get a family who will train him well. And I know that with the way you check out potential adopters that you’ll be better at weeding out anyone who might use him in the wrong way – like with dog fighting. I have done a little temperament testing and he doesn’t have any aggressive tendencies toward people or other dogs and he is okay with me putting my hands in his food bowl and even taking the food bowl away. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house so far. I think he was also starving for attention because I had him closed into the bathroom with me while I was taking a shower this morning and he whined and then after a few minutes – he hopped right in the shower with me! We weighed him yesterday – he is about 15 pounds - he was covered in fleas and we gave him a flea bath but I also put some Frontline on him.
My husband has taken to calling him Sampson – he said he needed a strong name since he is so skinny. My sons are also calling him Bandit since he also likes to sneak around and take things and puts them all in a pile outside in the yard. He is using the dog door to go in and out and by the end of our first walk today he was starting to get the hang of being on a leash.
