date posted: new to our rescue as of 12/21/07 (PICS COMING SOON!)

Arrival story: Pumpkin came to us from an overcrowded shelter. She was surrendered by her owners who claimed that they could not keep her anymore. Pumpkin sat in the shelter for 3 MONTHS before she was rescued today by Shelter to Home Inc. That means she's already spent half of her life behind bars!! This girl has yet to know the "good life" and having a warm bed to sleep on, and forever full food and water bowls.

Approximate age & weight: Pumpkin is between 5-6 months old. She's a tiny little thing, weighing in at 20.0 pounds. Based on her small structure and small paws, we don't image that she'll be a very large dog when grown (maybe 35 pounds or so).

Personality: Pumpkin is very scared and shy right now. After spending so many months of her puppy-hood in a cage at the shelter, no wonder why she is afraid. Everything is new to her: the house, the car, noises other than barking, etc. She enjoys the company and companionship of other animals and in her foster home will start to learn some of the basic commands and leash training that she's missed out on thus far.

The ideal home for this animal...: Pumpkin will need a home with someone who will use positive reinforcement to train her and help make her comfortable as she adjusts to the world once again. She is not aggressive in the least, just timid and shy. She will need a kind, gentle owner to help her crawl of out her shell again and learn to live the life a dog should.
