Say Hello to Miss Princessa, She is a very shy girl who needs a family to go slow with her and give her lots of TLC. Here's a few things we have learned about Princessa: Behavior history summary: Princessa arrived in care in June 2024. When initially brought into care Princessa displayed fearful behaviors including freezing in place and not walking on leash. Princessa was being carried around spaces when she initially arrived as she was too fearful to walk on leash. Over time in care, Princessa has been able to walk short distances on leash and has developed positive social relationships with staff. Cats: Princessa's previous owner shared that she "does not like cats" and "will chase them outside". No known history while in care. Strongly recommended for a home with no cats. Dogs: Princessa's previous owner shared that "she [is] scared [of other dogs]" and "will attempt to flee or freeze; shuts down". No known history while in care. Kids: Princessa lived with a one year old child in her previous home and was described as "good" around kids. However, due to fearful behaviors, Princessa is strongly recommended to be adopted into a home without children under the age of 10. All children in household should be able to comprehend and adhere to consent petting (pat, pet, pause) and be aware when Princessa may need breaks from handling and petting. Adults in household should expect to provide active supervision while children are with Princessa. Behavior consult: Behavior consultation for fearful behavior required pre adoption.
