My Story

This is Pooh Bear, a sweet pup who was rescued in March, on what would've been her last day of life because the shelter was out of room. She's a border collie mix who weighs a little more than 30 pounds and is full of energy!

Great things about Pooh Bear: She gets along well with other dogs, and loves her ball and her rope toy. She is fully house-trained, knows "sit," was spayed and microchipped on March 31, tested heartworm-negative and is on preventive for worms, fleas and ticks. She was owner-surrendered at the city shelter, and came to her foster home already knowing that a leash means a fun walk! She spends time in a crate when her foster people are at work, and she goes in without any trouble. But when they are home, she loves to be with them! One of her favorite things to do is cuddle on someone's lap. Her thick fur is soft and fluffy, so having her sit with you to be petted is a real treat.

Because she's only about 9 months old, she still has a few things to learn, like playing with people using your teeth isn't nice (she's gotten much better about that!), and swallowing that last gulp of water is really much better than dripping it all over the floor. And leaving her unsupervised outside isn't a good plan, because she likes to dig!

Pooh Bear's temporary home is in north Carrollton. For more information, please call Amy at 972-571-7355 if you're interested in meeting her. Home visit and screening required for adoption.

Adoption Fee: $40
