PolarBear

Polar bear is a senior(10+) and has a grade 3 heart murmur. He is vaccinated, Heart worm neg, and already dewormed. He is blind from cataracts in one eye, and blind in the other eye from trauma to the head. He has some muscle atrophy but is MUCH BETTER NOW!!!. He does not care to be picked up. Polar Bear is a toothless but defensive biter. He does not try except when you are carrying him and I just carry him with my hands out of his way. He hears my voice and my jingle bell bracelet and he will come to me and ket me pet and love on him. Polar has not known much, if any, kindness in his life. He enjoys being held and petted when he knows you. He is fiercely independent and moves about the house and yard as if he has been blind a long time. He wears a belly band in the house. He has a great appetite which is great as he was a rack of bones when he came here on April 28 from a Ga animal control facility.(with a gas chamber) He may weigh 8 lbs now but he could easily carry 10-12 lbs. (Don't you just love fattening them up?) He barks when he is hungry but that is about all the barking he does. He is really responding to certain words and a routine. I think that is about it. I believe in laying it all out there so there are fewer 'surprises.' Please only apply for him if you can handle all the issues of an old, blind, scared, some times grumpy, very special needs boy that comes along packing a lot of 'bagage'. He has lots of problems but the rewards of helping one of these awesome little fellows rehabilitate and blossom under loving care are indescribable!
