Check out our beautiful Poe!! She's waiting for those adoption applications!
Poe is an approximately 4 year old happy, playful, and fun 60 pound pitbull mix. She does have allergies, but we've settled on a good care plan for them and she's ready to find her home! If you're looking for a dog with some serious personality, she is it!
Poe Facts:
Good with other dogs with proper intros, she's a boss lady in a dog body so needs another dog that will correct her. She isn't interested in sharing toys and food with other dogs though.
No cats, she's never been around them so we don't know how she'd behave with one in the home.
Loves to play. All toys, all the time. Give them to her now. Tug o' war, fetch (although she would prefer if you just chase her and the ball), stuffed kongs, puzzle feeders you name it.
Loves warm weather, being outside, and meeting new people. Poe is a summer gal, she likes jackets in the winter and laying on a comfy bed in front of the heat vent if it's cold.
Poe knows sit, place and will wait for her food.
Poe does well in a kennel and has also done well being left out in small areas. We do recommend kenneling for safety when not home.
Poe will require continued care for her allergies. This includes medicated baths as needed, Apoquel, a salmon-based or potentially prescription diet. She's also on an omega 3, OTC antihistamine and probiotic which helps control her allergies further. The rescue will provide a 30 day supply of Apoquel for her adopter.
Any adopter MUST to be able to provide continued vet care for her so her allergies don't return to how they were when she landed on the euthanasia list in the shelter. If interested please fill out the general application on our website and be familiar with the cost of veterinary care.
