My Story
06/13/24 23:25 Dog Day Out Report from last week: Today I: I rode in the car and went on a 3.5 mile walk at Shady Oaks Park. I had such a good time on our walk taking in all the sights and sniffs! In the car, I loved looking out the window. After the walk, we laid in the grass for some time to cool off and then we went to Petco where I got to sniff and explore more. We finished off our outing with a pup cup from Starbucks. Three Words to Describe Me are: Shy, Sweet, Curious Notes from My Walker: Pixie is a sweetheart! She tends to be shy at first but warms up quickly. She is also very calm for a Husky. She does dodge the harness when leashing her, but going slow and talking to her helps. Today she hopped into the car on her own with no hesitation. Shes a great car passenger- she really enjoys looking out the window. Pixie also did great on the trail and loves a good sniffy walk. She doesnt pull on the leash- she switches between walking in front of you without pulling and loose leash walking all on her own. Shes non-reactive to most things on the trail such as people, dogs, and bicycles. She loves squirrels and gets excited when she sees them. She will try to chase them, but she quickly loses interest and moves on. Pixie is very gentle when taking treats and knows how to sit, shake, and lie down. She tries to stall when we have to head back on the trail, but Ive found that distracting her by going in a loop and leaving a trail of treats works. Today, she came out of her shell more and I saw more of her personality- she has a fun and goofy side to her! Overall, shes an amazing dog who would be a great companion to anyone! 06/07/24 04:41 DOG DAY OUT REPORT Today I: I met a new person. At first I was hesitant and shy, but I quickly warmed up to my walker. Then we rode in the car and went on a 5 mile walk at Shady Oaks Park. I had such a good time on our walk taking in all the sights and sniffs! In the car, I loved looking out the window. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks and I got a pup cup. Three Words to Describe Me are: Shy, Sweet, Curious Notes from My Walker: This was my first time meeting Pixie. She was shy and hesitant towards me at first, but warmed up to me pretty quickly. Pixie is curious and open to new experiences and people, but at her own pace. She was dodging the collar and harness at first, but going slow and talking to her helped. She was unsure of the car as well so we took a few minutes to walk around the parking lot and allowed her to examine the car. With some treats, she hopped into the car on her own within minutes. She started accepting treats once she felt comfortable with me and she takes them gently from your hand. I found that she knows how to sit, shake, and lie down. On the way back from the trail, she hopped into the car immediately with no hesitation. Overall, shes an amazing dog who would be a great companion to anyone!
