My Story

This terrified little girl came to us from Animal Control in December of 2004. She had no idea that people could be good and that we could actually give her love instead of abuse. After her first 3 weeks with us, we could almost touch her .... now her foster Mom can't get her off of her!! Pippi has learned to come to her name, sleep in the bed (under the covers of course), get along with other dogs and, most importantly, she is learning to meet other people. She is not ready to go to her forever home yet, but she is making great strides in that direction. Watch for updates on this little girl! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!! (4/23/05) Little Miss Pippi was moved to a new environment several weeks ago, in hopes that the exposure would help to build her confidence. Pippi has a whole host of new friends now and her confidence level has certainly increased. She is now totally crate trained and almost completely house trained! She loves cats that will play with her and has a toy box that she has to empty every day and scatter the toys through out the house! She, unfortunately, has not learned to pick them all back up yet! She prefers women to men, but she has warmed up to a few men in the last few weeks. Anywhere she is going to live, she needs to have another small dog to pal around with -- another dog being in the house will also help her to adjust to her new home much easier. When she sees another small dog going up to someone that she would not normally approach, it makes it much easier for her to take that first step! Once Pippi has an approved home, they should be prepared to come a visit her several times before taking her home - when she is allowed to warm up to new people she does so much better and adjusts so much more quickly. We are so proud of her great advancements!!! We are actively taking applications for this adorable little girl. Pippi has been spayed, is current on all of her shots, heartworm negative and on preventative.
