** Adoption Pending ** Pilgrim is a 3-year-old purebred Doberman that was picked up as a stray by animal control with what appeared to be a broken leg. Once we got this very active and affectionate boy to our vet, however, we learned that the injury to his leg was due to nerve damage. Pilgrim's leg was frozen in a bent position and was completely useless and atrophied. How long this poor dog endured the discomfort that nerve damage can bring we don't know, but our vet immediately removed the entire leg, including the shoulder, to give Pilgrim relief. The good news is that Pilgrim is doing great as a tripod! He gets around with no trouble at all. Pilgrim is a wonderful guy: very affectionate, smart, and social with female dogs. He is high-energy and needs an active owner. His only negative is he is obsessed with felines, so no cats please. Pilgrim is black and tan, with natural ears and a docked tail.
