My Story

Phoenix came into our rescue after being found chained to a burning house. He was starved nearly to death. The fireman that called on us to rescue Phoenix said that he had never seen a live dog that skinny before. Another rescue offered to take Phoenix and get him ready for his forever home. We later found he was kept in a crate in their garage 24/7 except for potty breaks for 7 months. We took him back imediately on finding this out. Again, he had been starved. Phoenix loves people and some female dogs, but in general he's best to be the only dog in the home. Because he was starved he delights in having food. He proudly shows his happiness at feeding time. In his new home he would love to be a couch potato and go for occasional walks and have a nice yard to enjoy. He's a loving dog and appreciates all the care he receives. A real home with people that love and understand him is long overdue in his life.
