My Story

ADOPTED! - Phoebe somehow ended up in a shelter, and we have no idea why she wasn't claimed by her owner. Perhaps they lost their home or their job and couldn't afford to keep her. (Sadly, the present state of the economy has resulted in many wonderful, loving dogs being surrendered to shelters or even being abandoned when their family moved away.) At any rate, since Phoebe was in danger of being put to sleep, so we rescued her--but we expect it won't be long before we find the perfect adopter for her, since she's pretty close to being perfect herself! She is a very smart, playful, happy-go-lucky, loyal dog and she does well with other dogs and cats. She weighs 13 lbs. (we've included a picture of her next to our cat, so that you can see how small Phoebe is) and she is just about a year old, so she has many happy healthy years ahead of her. Phoebe enjoys going for leash walks, warming her foster mom's lap, and cuddling under the blankets. Because of her small size, an adults-only home would be best for her. Phoebe doesn't want to be a latchkey dog, so an owner who is retired, works part time, or works out of his/her home would be ideal. Phoebe has been spayed, wormed, heartworm tested, microchipped, and immunized. Her adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in giving Phoebe the loving home she deserves, please e-mail us at: [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself and your situation. Then, if we feel you would be a good fit for Phoebe (and if we think that Phoebe would be a good fit for you) we will e-mail you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
