Meet Philip, a 51 pound mixed breed dog. Brought to us as a stray, Philip was very scared when he first arrived. After giving him some time to adjust and some attention from our staff, Philip has settled in significantly and is now considered one of the easier dogs to handle. He's still weary of some strangers, but seems to have an easier time meeting people if he has a trusted human by his side. So far, Philip has been mostly calm on leash the occasional short bout of zig-zagging if he's excited. As a young guy, Philip will need someone committed to continuing his exercise and training regiment, but he is very smart and knows how to sit for treats already! We don't know anything about Philip's history or behavior outside the shelter but, because of his fear behaviors early on at the shelter, we feel he would do best in a low-activity home in a quiet neighborhood or country space.
