Pete

It would be hard to find a better companion than this boy! We think Pete is the actual definition of a very good boy. He is loyal, loves people, is smart and attentive, and so deserving of his forever home. We were able to rescue Pete right before he was scheduled to be euthanized at a facility on the Navajo Reservation. He's a 30 lb. cattle dog mix who is around a year old. His favorite things to do are to go for car rides, on walks with his person, and get petted and loved on by people. He's absolutely full of personality and is eager to please. Pete does well with some dogs and others he likes to act tough around. He's made a ton of progress with the other dogs here and plays really well with a few of the dogs we have here. He will just need continued training as he learns what's expected of him. He recently spent 2 weeks at a training center here in Durango and the trainer there gave us lots of wonderful tips and a write up about him. They thought he was such a character and is totally going to make someone really happy. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. He does really well in a crate and sleeps quietly in his at night. He has great leash walking manners and is learning basic commands. He would really love a home with a fenced yard and to be the companion for his people. He doesn't need a whole lot else! He just loves to please his person, loves affection and attention, and is happy just to have some fun and love.
