Persimmon

**Persimmon's adoption fee has been SPONSORED for an approved application! Persimmon was a stray who wasn't claimed. She had some skin issues going on with her back end due to fleas but they have cleared up and she is even more beautiful now! (Pictures on the pink blanket are from when she first came in, and the pink/purple are from December.) She went for an outing March 11th, and we learned some more about her and how she is outside the shelter. Persimmon is the best hiking partner, and loved every second she was out and about. She wanted to stay close to Loki(a volunteer's dog) and stayed walking right next to him most of the time. She got startled at one point, and hid behind Loki feeling safe behind him with his confidence. Persimmons perks: -VERY food motivated and smart -Had no issues taking treats next to Loki (I always watch closely for signs of food aggression and always recommend feeding separately) -Persimmon was picking up on the fact when I told Loki to come, that means snacks and would come right back for treats (within half an hour, so she would learn very fast!) -Rides AMAZING in a crate, stays quiet and lays right down -Offers some intense focus -Literally was trying to offer a heel staring at me to see if that earned more snacks (it did) ? -Also really good on leash, but will pull if she sees a squirrel or something she wants to chase after -Enjoyed walking through the shallow stream, and may even be interested in swimming if I went in with her -Her small size (43# but super short) This girl needs out of the shelter.
