PEPPER *PENDING*

PEPPER HAS A PENDING ADOPTION! Pepper's owner is moving to an apartment and her parents are unwilling to keep him so he must find a new home. Pepper is 4 years old. Pepper is fine with other dogs. He will need to be neutered after arriving in rescue. Pepper has been living outside and will need to adjust to living as an inside dog to learn house breaking. Pepper understands basic commands of sit, stay, speak and his former owners family taught him "lovies", he will sit in front of you and if you hold out your arms and say lovies he will put his paws on your shoulder and give you a big hug and kiss. Pepper is settling in nicely to his new foster home. He is learning how to be an inside dog. He doesn't mind going into his crate and has stopped marking in the house. He and Chase (foster moms dog) are having fun playing in the yard now. He is very intelligent and wants to please. We had our first walking on a leash last night. The gentle lead really helped teach him not to try and drag me down the road. He loves to chase birds. One was flying across the yard the other day when I let him out and Pepper almost caught it. He is very fast and in good condition. He prefers women to men, but will warm up to men after a little while. He had a bath Saturday night. He looks much better now and smells better too. Got his nails trimmed this weekend too. He was very tolerant and more interested in the attention than the actual nail trimming. He has discovered squeaky toys are fun and now he and Chase compete for the toys. He is a really sweet natured boy. I did a test about food aggression and he just looked at me like, “hey, where are you taking my food?” He was not aggressive or protective at all. He is very curious. He likes to see what you are doing all the time. We are working on not putting our paws on counters, sofas and such. He has not figured out the dog beds yet. He sees Chase laying on his, but so far he prefers the floor to lie on. ***********************************************************
