My Story

Meet Peppa, an eight year old, female Bluetick Heeler coonhound mix. Peppa came into rescue when a Jewish co-worker, got stranded in Israel during the October attacks. Unsure as to when she would be able to return to the country, she asked if we would take Peppa into rescue and find her a great home. Peppa has been loved and well cared for all of her life. My coworker adopted her from an animal shelter when she was a puppy and Peppa has received regular veterinary care, toys, walks and companionship. Peppa came to my rescue last October 2023 and we are only now putting her up for adoption. Initially, there was the possibility that she would return to her owner's home in NJ. Peppa is no trouble and honestly the past year has flown by. She would make an outstanding companion for someone who wants a medium sized dog (45 lbs) who loves to walk, ride and be a companion. I can see her being adopted by someone retired who wants a friendly dog to work in the yard, go for rides and to watch tv together. I can also envision her being adopted by someone who is active, that wants to hike, walk, bike and have Peppa by their side. She is not a high energy dog. She is friendly but more of a couch potato during the day. She is quiet, unless it's dinnertime and you are late getting her bowl of food in front of her. We jokingly call her Hoover because if you drop any food on the floor, she inhales it before you can grab a paper towel. Peppa is healthy, does wonderfully with other dogs and people. She never met a stranger. She has been an inside house dog and knows how to use the dog door to go in and out. She comes alive at the sign of her leash and she is ready to walk for as long as you want to. Peppa is a true companion and deserves a great home of her own where can be a part of your life. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all of her shots and has been on regular heartworm medicine. She is crate trained and house trained. Peppa is smart and loving. Peppa's adoption fee is $200. To give Peppa great home, contact Robin Manley at 336-414-1373.
