Penny

Born in October 2020, Penny spent much of her young life in a crate. She came to us frightened and unsocialized. She gradually came out of her shell and found a new home. Unfortunately, changes in circumstances brought her back to us. Penny is not the typical lab. She takes a little time to warm up to people and can be reactive on a leash (although she is making progress on that), so she is not someone to take out in crowds. She does well with slow introductions with both people and dogs. Her previous owner said she displayed anxious behavior (which is a large part of why she was returned to us), so a calm, stable environment is a must for this sweet but shy girl. Penny is a love. Once she has opened up to people, she loves to play, go for walks on the beach, and food. Bonding through positive reinforcement training will be a great way to win her over. Penny is looking for a home with dog-savvy people who can continue her training. She would love a young dog to play with and would do best with a securely fenced yard to get her energy out.
