Peche (pronounced ‘pesh’) is one of the ES from Operation New Beginnings. She is approximately 2-3 years old and is on the small side at 35 pounds. Peche is very bright and has already learned to respond to several obedience commands in her foster home, including heel, sit, stay, and lay down.

Because of her limited socialization, Peche is wary of new situations and new people. She would do best in a home where she would be well taken care of but allowed lots of space with little “forced” interaction to allow her to get over her wariness of people at her own pace. Her new owner will need to give her time to bond; and maintain a calm and controlled atmosphere for her when she meets strangers until she acclimates to her new home. Peche fixates on the cats at her foster home and would probably do best in a home without cats.

Peche's ideal home is a quiet, adult household with patient caregivers who can give her a steady routine with regular walks in nature and calm, confident leadership. She may also benefit from the presence of a well-adjusted male dog to act as a role model. Peche will be a "work-in-progress" for sure, but the rewards should be plentiful.
