The shelter only needs to legally hold an animal for 3 days. WHAT YOU NEED TO RECLAIM YOUR PET FROM RGVHS -Current government issued photo identification with your name and address -Pictures of your pet *You can also check with other shelters in the RGV. You never know if your pet was picked up in a different city. Interested in adopting? All of our adoptions are first come first serve. If you are interested in adopting this pet who is on a stray hold, we recommend that you submit an adoption application through our website. Pet is not available for adoption until the date listed above. Please note that submitting an application does not hold the pet. Submitting an application puts you in line to adopt this pet. You must be present at the Humane Society at the time the stray hold is up to adopt. If you are not present, the adoption will go to the next person who submitted the application.
