Peanut & Diddy (Bonded Pair)

This bonded pair is Peanut and Diddy. These are the bad boys of the shelter. They take a little time to warm up to people but they are happy little guys. They do lift their leg to pee on things or other dogs. If that’s an issue for you, you’re probably not the right person for them. They are happy living at our sanctuary but could be happy living out their golden years in a home too. They enjoy exploring a fenced yard, rolling around on soft beds, wiping their faces on people, barking at other dogs, and eating lots of wet food. Both of these boys are over 10 years old. They are not in perfect health but are under the care of our veterinarian and as healthy as can be expected for their age and all they have been through. Peanut was Heartworm positive and not healthy enough for traditional heartworm treatment. We did the “slow-kill” method and after nearly 2 years, he is Heartworm negative. He has a gland on his tongue that fills will saliva and our vet suggests leaving it be since it does not bother him. Diddy recently had a dental with extractions and he has very few teeth left. For him, this means more wet food so he is thrilled.
