My Story

Poor little Peanut.... She came to us as a stray--via a local animal shelter--and it's clear that at some earlier point in time she experienced an accident and/or incurred burns to her face and body. Her wounds are all healed now with no long-term ill effects and--while we're not sure whether or not the hair will grow back in those areas--whatever happened to her hasn't caused her to hold any hard feelings towards people. She loves everyone, is very self-confident, and she approaches life as a great adventure! Little Peanut weighs eight pounds, is one or two years old, and seems to be in excellent health. She gives the most wonderful little "butterfly kisses", she walks well on a leash, and she loves to cuddle! Peanut is housebroken, spayed, microchipped, immunized, and she is heartworm negative. Although this little dog loves everyone, because of her small size we would prefer that she not go to a home with young children because we worry that they might inadvertently step on her or injure her in some other way. We are looking for an adopter who is retired, works part-time, and/or works out of the home so that Peanut won't have to be a "latchkey" dog. She would enjoy a fenced in yard (no invisible fencing, please) and a doggie playmate, if possible. We think Peanut is perfect in almost every way. However, she is a real DOG--not just a novelty or a "toy". If you feel you might qualify as the perfect adopter--and would give Peanut a lifetime of happiness along with the pampering she deserves-- please e-mail us at: [email protected]

read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a
humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the
public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not
available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references
are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our
rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
