Peace is about 1 year old. He's smart, playful and shy. He has a wirey beard, so we're guessing he's some sort of wire haired terrier mix. He may be yellow Lab and Airedale Terrier. Who knows? We're not too interested in dog "brands," we love mutts! His coat is coarse and scruffy. Such a cutie!! Peace is full grown and is about 50 pounds. He's very long, tall and lean.
Peace is housebroken. He is in a foster home with cats and dogs. He gets along great with the other dogs. Peace is fine with one of the cats, but enjoys chasing the other two. Peace is playful with younger dogs and respectful of the older dogs. Peace does well meeting new dogs and is usually playful with them.
Peace is shy and scared at our PetSmart adoption events, but he's getting better and more confident every time.
Peace loves to go for car rides. He looks out the window for a while and then curls up for a nap.
For the first few days in his foster home, Peace was scared of the man in the house, but now they're best buddies. Peace is shy at first, but warms up and then loves people.
Peace is crate trained and stays in the crate when his foster family is away at work. He's still young and would find things to chew on if left loose in the house.
Peace is too shy for a home with children. He is scared of loud noises and quick movements.
Peace loves toys. He's hard on them, though! He can destroy a tennis ball in 30 seconds. So he needs durable toys. Rope toys are his favorite.
Peace is energetic when he's playing, but settles down well and loves to cuddle and nap. Peace loves to run and is very fast.
Peace already knows sit and come. He is very smart and will be easy to train. He takes treats gently.
Peace is a good watch dog and only barks if there's a reason - like when someone's at the door or someone new comes to the house.
Peace is on the shy side because as puppies at their former owner's Peace and his siblings were just left in the backyard and didn't get the socialization they needed with humans. Peace weighs about 60lbs now.
Peace should go to a home with no children because he's shy and probably a home without cats because he likes to chase them. He does need to go to a home with another dog - a confident dog who can show Peace that he world is fun, not scary.
Peace is a truly awesome dog who needs a patient family who will let him blossom.

Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.
All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail via the e-mail link at the bottom of the page ("Email Indigo Rescue") with answers to the questions below. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.
Do you have other pets now? (briefly describe)
Have you had pets in the past? What became of them?
What is your schedule like? How long/often will the dog be alone?
What kind of exercise will the dog get? (type/frequency)
Where will the dog be while you're gone? Where will the dog be when you're home? Where will the dog sleep?
Are you in a home or apartment? How long have you lived there? Do you have a fully, securely fenced yard? (type/height)
Do you own or rent your home?
Who else lives in the home? Do you have children? How old are the children?
What changes in your life are likely in the next 10 years (or life span of the dog) and how will the changes affect the dog? (moving, job or schedule change, school, having children)
Anything else you'd like us to consider in finding the right dog for your family?
Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life!
