Parker

This is sweet Parker who is about 6-7 years old and very gentle and sweet. He has been neutered now and fully vetted. He came from another shelter that was getting crowded with no cages so they asked for rescue assistance. We've only had him in our rescue for about a week now, but so far, he's a star - the vet clinic staff loved him and all the daycare girls say he's a dream boat. We do know that the original shelter did adopt him out to a family with a number of small children and he found that environment too busy and hectic. Therefore, he would be happier in a home without small children but does seem to be very much a people dog. He is very affectionate with all adults though and in fact, he is quite a gentleman and very easy going. He is good in the car but does whine a bit but then settles. He's house trained When giving a treat to him he cowered and it seemed he thought he was going to be hit - it was quite sad to see. We've since seen an improvement with more treats being handed out and he's doing much better now - he's such a gentle dog but we are not sure what's happened to him. Not sure what his entire story is, evidently came to the shelter as a stray - only Parker knows and we're not sure if he's had some conflict in his life - it seems he may have - but now on to a better life with kind, deserving people. Update - he's a gem! Loves people, was playing ball and bringing it back, will give up the ball and wait for another toss. Was playing and visiting a number of new people at the daycare, was very social and no longer cowering.
