My Story

Oz is a small pup, about 7-8 months old and expected to weigh under 30 pounds when done growing. Recently neutered, he's making great progress with house training and holds it well while crated. Oz settles in his crate after a few minutes and only barks appropriately at strangers or loud noises. He loves treats and quickly learned commands like "no" and "go potty." During the day, Oz enjoys napping on the couch but will hang out in his crate if needed, though he'd prefer to be wherever the humans are. He loves playing with his foster siblings and various toys and he loves interacting with children and other dogs after initial introductions. We think Oz would be happiest in a home with other dogs to keep him company throughout the day. In the yard, Oz is energetic and loves to chase and play fetch with his toys. Loyal and protective, Oz is very attached to his person and barks at potential intruders. His biggest pet peeve is being left alone, and he's known for his adventurous spirit, occasionally trying to escape the yard. Oz's greatest accomplishment is quickly learning his name and coming when called, making him a delightful and intelligent addition to any home. Can you give this sweet little guy with big dog energy a home today? Interested in adopting this dog? Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
