Our Man Bubba!

Occasionally in life we are fortunate enough to meet someone who will change our lives forever. For all of us at the American Bulldog Rescue family, that person is our man Bubba. Bubba story began like so many of our rescue dogs so sadly do….a one year old stray is found and desperately needs a place in rescue. When Bubba arrived in rescue, he was suffering from a very bad case of Demodex…a very treatable, but uncomfortable skin condition. Despite the fact that he was roaming the streets with no place to call home and forced to fend for himself everyday with a skin condition that is less than comfortable, he was all smiles. Bubba jumped into the car and never looked back. It is almost as if he new that we now an unspoken agreement…never would he be homeless again. Bubba arrived in his foster home and settled in just like he was there forever. He tolerated his foster siblings who were less than thrilled with his arrival with his typical happy attitude, he was just so grateful to have a warm bed, lots of love and a safe place to call home. Bubba began his numerous skin treatments without one complaint. Bubba shares his love with everyone he meets, both canine and human alike. He is wonderful with children and enjoys there company most of all. His incredible attitude towards everyone and everything he meets is what has profoundly affected all of us. Something about Bubba just grabs your heart and never let’s go. Despite all that he has suffered through, he has an amazing ability to give love and is more than happy to receive love. That is something we all need to learn. In a world where everyday we are faced with suffering and sadness…this incredible kind soul finds a way to change you, to help you turn away from all that is wrong around you and make you smile. It is now time for Bubba’s story to begin a new chapter, his skin condition has greatly improved and he is ready to go home. Because of Bubba’s great love of people, we will only adopt him to a home that will be with him often and make him a part of the family. We would also like to place Bubba with a female doggie companion as he loves to play and truly enjoys the company of another dog.
