My Story

Otto & Wesley Bonded pair! $800 adoption fee is for both! Meet Otto, a 1.5-year-old, 22 lb. miniature schnauzer with a black and white coat, docked tail, and unaltered ears. Otto has been neutered and is up-to-date on all vaccinations and exams and does not have any known history of illness or medical needs. Otto is a sensitive, cuddly, and attentive boy. He loves to be the center of attention, will put his paw on your shoulder when he feels that attention is lacking, and often strives to be the first one on your lap when it’s time to relax! He loves bones and belly rubs and is happy just to be around his people. Otto has been nicknamed “Chompers” due to his love of chewing on bones and sticks, as well as nipping at his brother to get playtime started! Otto has made huge strides with leash training and enjoys spending time running around outside with his brother, rain, snow, or shine. Otto is a quiet boy, even when roughhousing, and does great with learning new commands/situations. He just loves to soak up information and attention all while wagging at you! Otto and Wesley are a bonded pair being fostered in the Columbus, Ohio area. Since Otto and Wesley have spent their whole lives together, we would like them to be adopted together as well. They were adopted at 6 months, returned to the breeder 11 months later (due to their owners’ entry into hospice care), and made their way to us in January. It is suspected that this time with their former owner included some neglect and perhaps abuse, as they can be fearful of new people. It doesn’t take long for them to warm-up, but they still go into protective mode when strangers come into their space. They have come a long way but would do best with new parents that will continue to work with them on trust and socialization. They are housebroken and get along well with other dogs but have not been tested with cats or children. We have not used a crate with them, rather started them in a designated area and slowly expanded that area when away from home. They would likely do best in a home with adults and older children only, and parent(s) who aren’t gone for long stretches at a time. A fenced in yard would also be recommended as these two are still learning leash etiquette. We hope that whoever adopts them will keep their new names for some consistency in their lives, as they are on his third names already. If you think you could be their human(s), we would love to hear from you! These special boys have been a pleasure to have in our home, and we can tell they just want to love and be loved in return.
