My Story

Otis wandered onto a ranch skin and bones only weighing 35 pounds and estimated to be six months old. He was fed and cared for by a wonderful couple who got him to the vet and growing stronger each day. He developed Houdini like skills escaping from various arrangements and ranch fences before they decided h needed a traditional fence to contain him. He was adopted by a couple who when they had to travel, dropped him at house where chickens and ducks were being raised. When he went after a duck one day, the woman took him into town and dumped him at a church. Luckily his first family found out and searched for him, finding him exhausted on the side of a highway. They really wanted to keep him but their fencing was too easy for Otis to escape through. So they contacted TGPR for help finding Otis a forever home where he will never have to move again. Otis is a sweetheart, affectionate and connects deeply with his people. He must have a home with a yard with solid fencing. He's great with kids, other dogs, cats, but not chickens or ducks. He has a strong urge to roam so like all pyrs he should be on leash when out and about. He's got all the attributes of a great pyrenees, he's smart, calm, intuitive, friendly. He'd be a great family dog and he deserves to live safely and be loved by his forever people.
