My Story
-Otis is a very quiet dog. Every now and then hell bark when hes bored, or wants to go outside but 9 times out of 10, hes silent. -He doesnt have any interactions with kids, but when in public, he behaves well. -We live with two cats and Otis is very good with them. When the cats are playing around, he doesnt join in on their shenanigans or anything. He may sniff their behind when they walk around, but thats about it. -We do not live with dogs, but the neighbors have dogs. When we go on walks and pass other dogs, they catch his attention for about five seconds, but is easily redirected. He pays no mind to people or animals unless he sees a threat. -Our home is fairly quiet and calm. We are college students who are out and about. When we are home, he is mostly calm. When we have friends over, he gets excited when theres commotion, but is still mostly calm. -The only behavioral issue Id say is hes taken some interest in munching on the cat poop in the litter box. Its not often at all, but we believe it is out of boredom. -I think the only thing he is fearful of is our remote control race car! For some reason, when we are playing around at home he always runs away. -Otis has a dog bed on the floor. Sometimes he sleeps on there. Other times, he likes the tile or the rug. And also, every now and then, I wake up and find him asleep on my roommates bed that is lower on the ground. -He likes toys, but isnt too crazy about them. Anything I can think of. Balls, chew toys, squeakers, and all of it. -Otis is very well-trained. The previous fosters did a very good job! He knows simple commands like come, his name, sit, and even goes to his crate when I say crate. It is very easy for him to go in his crate. He loves walks and gets super excited when I bring the leash out. Sometimes when im putting a belt on, he thinks its a leash and comes running! Then I feel bad and have no choice but to walk him. Leash behavior is very easyhe pulls occasionally very briefly but is easily corrected. -Otis loves to give and receive kisses. Hes a really sweet and touchy dog. If animals could be bubbly, thats what Otis would be. Hes also very smart. There are numerous occasions where we go on walks and when there is a suspicious person nearby, he watches really carefully almost like a guard dog. And if they approach, he actually barks which is so interesting considering he is so quiet at home. Hes mostly a couch potato, apart from the occasional zoomies and begging for food in the kitchen. -I honestly think that Otis would do good in any kind of home. Children, cats, and potentially other dogs (Im not sure.)
