Otis

Otis is a 10 year old male neutered Wheaten Terrier. If you watch our website and read our newsletter, you may remember Otis. He was at the shelter last May and was adopted. The former adopters had him for the last 5 months and decided to return him because they said that his vet care would cost their family too much. The shelter staff called Otis's vet immediately to find out more information. The vet said that Otis is in good shape for his elderly age however he has arthritis in his hips. The cost to help Otis is about $25 -$32 a month for his Rymadil medicine. He in on 100mg chewable tablet a day and Otis takes the tablet very nicely. Wow! In just a few days since his arrival at the shelter and he had his meds, he is moving around so much better! Here is a link to more info on his meds, Rymadil. Click HERE please. Now a bit more about our Mister Man, Otis! OK...here it is, you just can't help but fall in love with Otis! He is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. Otis loves everyone and everyone at the shelter adores Otis! He is like your kind, sweet old Grandfather who may not be moving around as fast as he was when he was a youngster but still has a lot of love and life to live.
Otis stays behind the desk at the shelter. We couldn't bare putting this sweet old man in the kennels...plus we love his company up front. He hangs out, sleeps, has snacks, walks around the lobby visiting with everyone, looks at the cats, visits with any other dogs that are coming and going, goes outside to go potty (he's house-trained) and takes walks with the volunteers and generally provides us with wonderful company. 'Mr. Mild Mannered'!
Otis would make a perfect companion for anyone who is looking for a low maintenance, gentle, kind, friendly dog who just wants to be loved, have a slow walk and just be your friend. The shelter really wants to find this great senior gentleman a home so he doesn't have to live the rest of his life at the shelter. He deserves a a loving home to finally retire in.
