Otis

Poor little Otis. He is a young adult Chihuahua mix. Otis has had it rough in his life so far, he ended up at a shelter where they had so many dogs coming in, they couldn’t keep him anymore and were going to have to put him to sleep. We are able to use our “Share A Life” program where we will take dogs from other shelters when we don’t have many dogs. He is now hoping for his second chance. Otis is hand shy, when you go to pet him. He seems to remember something hurtful and lowers himself to the ground in submission. Otis will let us pick him up and move him around with no problem. He doesn’t mind being handled, he just isn’t sure why he is here. He snuggles right up to you if you sit on the floor and pat your leg. He know how to walk on leash, but when he is scared, he needs a little coaxing to follow you. So, little Otis is a little shy at first, but is coming around day by day. Otis likes other dogs, he seems more comfortable when he has a buddy with him to play with. He is a great little guy. If you are looking for a loyal, best friend and you don’t mind giving me a little time in the beginning to get used to you, will you visit me?
