Name : Otis Breed : Golden Retriever Age : ~10 Weight : 57 lbs Came from : Türkiye Foster Home Location : Nashville, TN Activity Level : Low. He does love to play with toys and stroll around the yard, but spends most of his days relaxing and napping Personality : Extremely sweet and charming. He absolutely loves humans, and co-exist with other pups just fine.. you won't necessarily find him trying to romp or play with them - but he's perfectly content with sharing his people and space with other pups in the home. Otis is a gentleman inside the home - he doesn't try to chew up anything or cause any sort of chaos. He is a velcro dog and just wants to be by your side at all times. Health : Otis is an older gentleman and will need a home who accepts and understands his limits. He has pretty severe arthritis (maybe hip dysplasia) that we are working on managing with the vet. He struggles walking up stairs and climbing onto things. He will need a one level home that he can easily navigate. He will need an orthopedic bed, joint supplements, and a lifelong prescription medication to help manage pain and inflammation related to his arthritis. He will not be a pup who can go on long walks or hikes, but rather short strolls around the neighborhood. Best Feature : His sweet sugar face Friendly with : humans, other dogs (unknown children & cats) Snore-o-meter : Haven't heard him snore! Bark-o-meter: Otis has started forming some very light separation anxiety where he barks when left alone. Walks on a leash : he's very polite on a leash! Potty Trained : Otis has had a couple of house accidents when he first arrived. I work from home so he has almost 24/7 access to go outside. He will not alert me when he has to go, but if let out frequently - he won't go in the house. Sleep Style : Otis is currently sleeping in his own room on his doggy bed. However, he would be so happy to sleep in bed with his humans Favorite hobbies : Otis loves to eat. He loves playing with his stuffies and his ball. He is starting to REALLY love cuddling.
