Oreo Cookie

Meet Oreo Cookie! Unfortunately, Cookie came into our program as a cruelty case. This poor girl was allegedly "picked up and slammed to the ground" due to someone getting very angry. We had to carefully handle this situation in order just get Cookie into our hands and take over her care. We were never able to identify the abuser and did not want to push so hard as to not get them to surrender her into our care. From X-rays our vet saw her hip was completely shattered on the left side. She received an FHO surgery from our Orthopedic vet and has now been cleared for regular activity and is eligible for adoption now! Her leg is back to about 80-90% use and she may favor it on occasion- she is able to live a normal life. She is not in need of any medications or special treatments. Cookie has not let her trauma slow her down much, and we have shown her unquestionable love and compassion. Cookie is a happy girl who loves car rides and meeting new people. She is very affectionate and makes friends wherever she goes. She gets very excited to see new dogs, but since she was injured we have not been able to formally dog test her. She has been in medical boarding at a wonderful facility who loves having her and now she is up to regular activity with them. Cookie is about 1-2 years old and weighs about 58 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heart worm negative!
