Meet Oreo! This 3 year old, 25lb cutie pie is ready to find her new family.
Sadly, her elderly owner passed away and she was left homeless.
When she came into rescue, her skin was showing all over - she had lots of hair missing from lack of care. She has some food allergies and is on a prescription diet, so all hair has been coming back and she's feeling fabulous!
She's a really good, sweet and quiet girl.
Her foster mom says:
"Oreo is one of the most polite and calm dogs ever! She does not bark, she does not beg for food, she was excellent when I gave her a bath, she is 100% non destructive in my apartment, and she seems fully potty trained!
Additionally - Oreo is an excellent leash walker and really seems to enjoy her time outdoors. We go on a few walks a day and Oreo’s tail is constantly wagging during the walk. I do not have other pets, but Oreo eagerly approaches other dogs when we pass them on our walk, so I do think she would enjoy having a calm sibling. On walks, Oreo prefers to “do her business” on grass or on dirt.
Inside my apartment - Oreo is non destructive and has picked her favorite areas to relax and rest in. Oreo is not the type of dog that wants to snuggle lots - but she enjoys being in the same room as me and at night she sleeps next to my bed. Once she gets acclimated with her new home - she sits nearby and gives little kisses every now and then, which is just adorable! I have not put her in a crate.
So far, Oreo has not played with stuffed toys.
As she is the only pet, I keep Oreos food bowl out for most of the day and she eats a bit of her food here and there when she is hungry.
Oreo has been an excellent foster and she is really well behaved. She is the perfect dog to bring along for an outdoor lunch, jump in to a couple of dog friendly stores with, enjoy a picnic in the park, or just go on a walk with - Oreo is easy going and would love to join you.
Due to Oreo’s calm nature, I think she would do best in a home without young children as she is occasionally startled by very loud noises. She is so friendly and sweet, I think she would thrive with an individual or couple who would enjoy having her tag along on daily activities.
Oreo might have some allergies, as you may be able to tell from her pictures, but she is on a prescription diet for now and seems to be doing well!" She can easily be transitioned to a raw or fresh diet as her adoptive family wishes.
