My Story

Oreo, a 10-month-old large breed puppy, arrived at the SPCA alongside Marshmallow, with whom he gets along with well. However, Oreo can be selective with other dogs, requiring slow and proper introductions. He is currently in training and has mastered walking on a leash. Ongoing socialization is crucial for his development. Potential adopters should consider a rural environment with yard access, as Oreo may prefer this over city life. They should also have some experience with large breeds, as Oreo is still growing. He is very food motivated, which aids in positive reinforcement training. Once comfortable, Oreo enjoys leaning into his humans and may try to sit on them. Patience and understanding of his puppy behaviors will be essential for his new guardians. Do you think you could be "Oreo's" person? Here are some ways to find out: 1. Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours at 3202 Norland Ave, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or 2. Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.
