My Story

Meet Omar the TV star! He was recently featured on Good Day PA. He is beyond adorable with his "side eye." He thinks the volunteers at our rescue aren't onto him, but we see him "sneak peaking' at us. Omar was found as a stray and never reclaimed - but he isn't letting that stop him from making friends! He is a mix of Staffordshire Terrier and Australian Shepherd (along with a smaller mix of other breeds). Heis absolutely striking, with soft fur and a loving personality. Omars looks are only enhanced by his brain. He has learned to walk well on a leash and, in his time with us, we learned that he is eager to learn and is very treat motivated. While we do not have his 'carfax,' he is learning basic commands and is so smart, he seems to be training the volunteers. Like all of us, Omar's #SquadGoals are simple: to love and be loved unconditionally & have a FURever family of his own. This loyal little #boss SHINES like the brightest diamond when shown affection (very much like us humans). He even leans in for hugs (think of Bill Withers's song "Lean On Me" '...we all need someone to lean on...lean on me...') This #boss would hug you under your skin if he could figure a way to get that close to you. Omar will thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner that will work with him to be the best version of himself. Kind of like the slogan "the possibilities are endless,' so is Omar's potential. He is learning so much - and for the first time - so he needs time, space, dedication, patience, and some magical unconditional love. Unlike the stock market, Omar is an investment that will pay dividends exponentially for many years to come! We think Omar would do best living in a home without young children, but may do okay living with older teens.Omar is currently in a foster home with a dog-sibling and doing very well so we think he would be happy living with another dog. Like all of our dogs, a meet and greet would be required with all family members and any dogs in the home. Omar let us know he definitely does not want to be in a home with cats. Trust us, you dont want to miss a chance to meet this sweet boy!
