My Story

Adoptable Underdog Ollie is really a dog of simple needs. He's just looking for caring humans who enjoy quiet times at home and have room for a big, goofy dog who will constantly make them smile. A stroll around the neighborhood, a game of tug, or just a nice roll in the grass is his idea of excitement. Throw in the occasional car ride or enrichment class and he's a happy dog! Honestly, he just wants to be a part of the family. Now, in case you’re thinking that Ollie will basically be a dog-shaped rug in his new home, let us put that idea to rest: Ollie still has quite a bit of life left in him! He really doesn’t act like a senior dog most of the time. Think “older gentleman in the nursing home who still likes to flirt with the ladies”. That’s Ollie! He enjoys hanging out near his humans but he’s not a lap dog--which, at his size--is a good thing! Ollie recently had a DNA test which showed him to be a Bulldog, Shepherd, Husky mix, so sturdy people who have shared their home with a large dog in the past would be ideal. He's crate trained, house trained, and has graduated from basic obedience classes. Once he's settled into his routine, he's pretty much the older gentleman you'd expect from a 9-year-old guy. He’s been leash-reactive in the past, but has made great progress in ignoring other dogs on his familiar walking routes. He’s really quite easy to walk these days...although he does seem to want to chase muscle cars so his human just needs to be ready when they hear that distinctive motor coming down the road. He’s also quite happy hanging out in a securely fenced yard if walks aren’t your thing. If Ollie is the sort of dog your family has been looking for, please contact us through Petfinder or email us directly at [email protected]. Adoptable Underdog Ollie's Vital Statistics: - 9ish years old - approximately 70 pounds - Bulldog, Shepard, Husky mix - neutered - up to date on all things medical - house trained and crate trained - pretty low energy, once he’s settled into his routine - looking for a quiet home with sturdy humans and no other pets
