My name is Oliver Twist and I’m a purebred North American House Hippo. Just Kidding! I’m a 2-year-old Olde English Bulldogge. What’s that you ask? Think the face of an English Bulldog on a chubby Boxer’s body. I have tons of energy and LOVE to be outside. Speaking of things I like, toys are my number one favorite, especially ones I can play tug of war with. A close second is treats. I know how to sit and give you a paw as long as you have something yummy to share with me. I am house trained and crate trained. Foster mom usual leaves me out when they’re gone for an hour or less, but I stay in my crate if it’s any longer. I prefer not to be left any longer that 2-3 hours. Sometimes I have to be convinced to get in my crate (again treats are the trick) and I complain a little when I get in there but I settle really quickly. It would be awesome if someone in my new family worked from home or was only gone a few hours a day. My foster dad works from home and I’ve gotten used to going on a few walks a day to sniff all the neighborhood smells. I’m interested in other dogs and people when I’m out but listen pretty well when told to “leave it”. I am really strong though so be ready to get a good upper body workout as I learn to walk on the leash without pulling. I’d prefer a home with no cats or other dogs so I can have all the attention to myself. It was also be best for me to be with older kiddos. Foster mom says I am an awesome dog who has a lot of personality. I can’t wait to meet my perfect family to make my own! Do you have room in your heart for a big hippo like me?
