My Story

Oliver is a 75-pound (Mastiff / Lab?) mix about 7 years old, with a black coat and white markings. He was adopted from Operation Kindness in 2018 and he has been a loyal companion ever since. Oliver is a gentle pup who lives for fetch and loves to play in a lake or pool. Despite this love for water, he is not a fan of a bath but will reluctantly endure tub time. Despite his playful demeanor, his gentle side takes over when it comes to tugging on ropes and he will let go. He is also very gentle when taking treats, so long as his sister is not nearby to intercept! Oliver gets along with female dogs and currently lives with a female boxer. Oliver does not get along with male dogs or cats in the same home. At the dog park, he generally pays no attention to the other pups. Oliver loves to cuddle up with his humans and will be the first to jump in your lap to watch a movie while snuggled under the covers. An ideal home for Oliver would be one with some back yard to patrol and windows look out of; he will always alert you to anyone approaching. He is crate and house trained nut needs to work on not pulling on the leash. He can sit and lay down; he also comes when called. He is one smart pup that loves to go on adventures and gets overly excited to jump into the car. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Oliver is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.
