My Story

Meet Oliver, the striking 3-year-old Siberian Husky who could easily be the James Dean of dogs. With his impressive 62-pound frame and steely gaze, Oliver isn't just another pretty face; he embodies the independent, intelligent spirit of his breed. He's the kind of dog who would look right at home on a Harley, cruising down the highway, or nonchalantly posing with sunglasses and a leather jacket. Oliver's demeanor is as cool as they come. He's not the type to seek out constant affection; he's more of a 'hang out beside you' rather than 'curl up on your lap' kind of guy. His energy level is moderate, making him a great match for a family that appreciates brisk walks and active play without going overboard. Oliver is treat-motivated—a surefire way to win his attention and loyalty—and while he’s not one to make a fuss or try to Houdini his way out of the yard, keeping him mentally stimulated is key to his happiness. Despite his somewhat aloof nature, Oliver isn't one to shy away from company. He's well-behaved with other dogs and has a gentle mouth, which makes him suitable for families with older children. He doesn’t jump up or startle easily, but potential adopters should be familiar with the grooming needs and the engaging environment a Husky requires. Currently residing in a kennel environment, Oliver interacts well with everyone he meets, though he has a touch of what some might affectionately call 'snobbery.' He's crate trained and shows no destructive behaviors, even when left alone, reflecting his well-mannered disposition. Oliver's backstory includes being rescued from the streets by Sunnyside Street Dogs and subsequently pulled from BARC by our rescue team. He’s a survivor, now looking for a forever home that understands and respects his breed's traits and his unique personality. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a touch of enigmatic charm and the soul of a wanderer, Oliver might just be your perfect match. He promises to be a steadfast friend and an interesting fellow to all who understand the heart beneath the husky exterior. +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://form.jotform.com/210515484620146 +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers!
