Oliver

A friend of TLC's was in North Garland and saw me running across the street following a teenage boy. He wasn't my human boy, but he looked pretty nice to me so I was following him. Besides, I wasn't sure where I was! I'd already followed him for several blocks (I'm not sure he knew where he was going either.) And since all my whiskers are singed, no one's sure where my adventures led me. Luckily the lady took me home with her so that I'd be safe. Since I wasn't microchipped she searched and searched but couldn't find my humans. That's why I'm glad that TLC will microchip me. I don't ever want to be lost from my forever home.
To make sure that I was A-OK, the nice woman took me to the vet. He named me Oliver, after Oliver Twist. Don't know who that is, but I like the name and I'm responding to it. He thinks I'm a Pekingese Terrier mix. A "PekaJack". He said his best guesstimation was that I'm probably about 1 year old. I weigh about 14 pounds. And that's 14 pounds of pure love muffin. I'm very stable and calm. I even let that nice lady bathe me (which was good because I was infested with fleas after all my wandering) and clip my nails. And I was just as good as gold. So far I'm not afraid of any of the other dogs that live here. And it's kind of nice having someone to play with. I love to play and my favorite pastime is retrieving balls. I could do that all day long...as long as I have treat and snuggle breaks! A dog like me just can't get enough snuggle time. My favorite all time place to be is in a human's lap. It makes me feel so safe and warm and loved. And I'll protect that lap with all 14 pounds of me. I promise that as long as I'm in your lap....no one is going to steal it!
The nice lady I'm staying with thinks I am a quick learner. Which I must admit I am. She says I'm smart and responsive but she doesn't think any one has ever taken the time with me for training. She says I look as though I'd be easy to teach. I've very food driven and I already respond to the clicker. If you'd like to meet me, please respond to TLC. I know I can bring lots of love and joy to my new forever family. My adoption fee is $200 and I am scheduled to get neutered and microchipped mid-March.

We are a RESCUE ORGANIZATION, therefore, please complete your online Adoption Application which can be found on our website. We require an adoption application, vet reference, and a home visit with the pet. if you have current pets, they must be spayed and/or neutered, current on their vaccinations, and on Heartworm preventative. ALL of our pets are spayed or neutered prior to being Adopted. They are UTD on shots, Heartworm negative, & micro chipped. They must be kept on Heartworm preventative. Our adoption fee varies. Puppies have an increased adoption fee since they need 3 or 4 sets of shots, multiple dewormings, plus other puppy needs to keep them healthy.
