Olive Jezzy

Olive was found by a dumpster with a group of older dogs in Albania, where dogs and cats roam free on the city streets and, tragically, are frequently mistreated and abused. :,-( She was the only one brave enough to approach the volunteer with our partner rescue group in Albania, who shared that this sweet, timid girl really seemed to be asking for help! She was malnourished, anemic, and had an eye infection. Once she received all the vetting and TLC she needed, she was able to travel to the US where she is now in a foster home. Here’s what her foster mom has to say: “Meet Olive (originally called Jezebelle, or Jezzy for short), a stunning Dutch shepherd mix! At just over 1 year old and just under 40 lbs, Olive is perfectly medium-sized, though she sometimes confuses herself for a lap dog! She is potty trained, sleeps perfectly through the night in her crate, and knows basic commands like “sit,” “paw,” “come,” and “leave it.” Olive is a spunky girl who loves to run and play before taking a nap with her people on the couch. She is non-destructive and occupies herself with toys and bones in her free time. Since she was rescued as a street dog in Albania, she does take some time to warm up to people; once she does, she’s sweet as can be. Ollie is fiercely loyal and just wants to please her humans! Olive has done well with dogs, cats, and children, but prefers to soak up all of your attention. She has shown some jealousy towards her current foster fur-siblings so if she does go to a home with other dogs, she will do best with a very easy-going, tolerant and submissive pup who won’t mind letting her be the boss.” This stunningly beautiful girl who was smart enough to take help when it was offered to her back in Albania will make a wonderful addition to any family!
