My Story

June 22:
It's official!!!!!
We're pleased to announce the official arrival of Ola Anderson. The fifth member of the clan weighs in at a comfortable 47.2 lbs, eye colour uncertain.
She brings a whole lot of love, affection, shedded dog hair and what is most certain to be a plethora of vet bills.
A routine creature by nature whose temperment is calm, she already requires a definitive amount of beauty sleep per day, commencing immediately after breakfast.
She was officially welcomed into the family after the fourth member of the Andersons (Jared) was found not to be allergic to his sibling Ola but to dust mites, trees and grass.
We are estatic to welcome Ola into the family, besides if we said no we are quite certain she would just break down the back door again and let herself in.
Sincerely, Steve, Michelle, Mekensie, Jared and Ola

May 1: ADOPTION PENDING

Ola has gone to live on the island with a lovely family who plan to adopt her! Ola is doing fabulously and loves all the attention she is getting from her new family!

Ola's April Update:

Ola has now had four surgeries and we are certain she can see shadows, can now see the difference between light and dark, night and day and since her last surgery has stopped bumping into things! She may never have full vision, even with all these surgeries her third eyelid is still protecting her eyes. She is, however, very comfortable and happier than ever.
She is such a lovebug we are confident she will find a home with no problem. Despite one of her senses being challenged she runs, plays, gives sweet kisses, and is an absolutely charming girl. She is even learning how to walk on leash without going in circles and getting all caught up in the leash. Walking on leash was something she could never do before as she had no idea where she was headed. Now that she can sense and see better she is no longer afraid to go out in the big wide world by your side. She is ready to take on the world and the world better get ready for her as she now wants to make up for lost time. She loves exploring and greeting everyone and everything she meets! Get ready to fall in love if you plan to meet her, as there is no turning back once you have. She will capture your heart as she obviously has ours.

*A huge thank you to Dr. Hare, Dr. Geimenhart and the rest of the crew at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital for their dedication, patience, generosity and the endless effort made to help sweet Ola!*

Ola's story from the beginning:

Ola (~1.5 yrs old) was abandoned in an apartment in a home by her owner who owed back rent, the landlord contacted us about her. She is a small standard, but a very stocky one and VERY cute! Her eyes are in a bit of a state, but she has been spayed and entropian surgery performed. She had trouble with the anethesia during the spay so the eyes were done a week later, after that surgery the facial tissue on her eyes was so delicate the stitches tore and she had to be rushed back in to be redone.
Ola does not miss a beat without her vision and makes up for it by smelling everything and feeling her way around obstacles.
She is housebroken, loves to meet other dogs, people and even cats! She has been in two foster homes and lived with children in one of them. She has also lived with a large breed dog and enjoyed living with a canine companion. The cat in her 2nd foster home got a lot of her attention but was not thrilled with it as Ola was a little too playful for her. She may be best in a home with a cat that knows and is used to an active dog and is able to let her know when play time is over, or a home without cats. Ola is such a sweet and gentle girl who has been so good through all her surgeries it is amazing. After all this she still wags her tail when visiting the vets office! She is an absolute doll who loves to meet new people. Ola is great in the car and is always excited to visit new places. Don't let her eyes deceive you, this little girl can keep up with the best of them.

Ola's photos show her progression from the time she came to us and could not see at all and was very uncomfortalbe to her happy, content and comfortable appearance today.

Ola's adoption fee is Cdn. $300.00.
