Oasis fast approaching 6 months! This cool drink of water arrived at the age of 6 weeks, along with her 3 desert themed littermates Kalahari, Cactus, and Mojave, and her mama Gobi. Oasis is the biggest in her litter, but as her mom was only 26 lbs, we'd be surprised if she passed 40!
Oasis comes off as reserved and withdrawn, but if you get her one-on-one, the fastest way to her heart is through play. She loves squeaky and crinkly toys, and she's already an expert at pouncing, chasing, and bringing the toy back. She's also fond of treats and will be very brave with their promise. At her core, she is a gentle dog despite her age, and she longs to be close to people. She will lean up against or hide behind the humans that she feels safe with, often choosing them above a treat or even her beloved toys.
When Oasis was a bit younger, she got to go on a field trip to our local nursing home where she spent an hour being held and petted by the residents. Her gentle and tolerant nature was noted by staff and residents alike.
