My Story

O'Brien (04-022) is a male basset from the Rockdale County shelter. Here's a few words from O'Brien himself. I know that my name sounds Irish, but my foster mama says that I'm really a Texan like her. I had heartworms, but the vet treated me and I am now heartworm free. My Basset foster brother is workin' really hard at teachin' me how to be a genuINE hound dog. The people that I owned before didn't deserve me or any other hound dog for that matter. I wasn't used to bein' inside at all. I was very nervous at first, but I am settlin' in nicely. I have had only two accidents in the house the entire time I have owned my foster family, and my foster mama says that's a near perfect record. I LOVE my crate...I bark at my foster mama if she forgets and shuts the door. I like to go in there and lay down...my foster mama usually leaves the door open so that I can come and go as I durn well please. There is this strange lookin' hound here at my foster mama's house...she calls it a cat. I bark at it quite a lot. Some people were mean to me in the past, so when someone disciplines me, I get stressed out. It would be best if there are no people in my forever home. I really need a special family to love. I am still learnin' to play, so my foster mama says that I'd do fine as the lone hound in the household OR with another hound. Well, my foster mama says it's time for grub, so I'd best be goin'?! Can I come eat at your house soon? I'd be happy to own you forever and ever... For more photos and for information on adopting this dog, please visit http://www.bhrg.org.
