Nya

Nya is a spry, independent old lady looking for her retirement home! She's nearly deaf and a bit sassy and won't hesitate to let you know what she does and does not like. Nya is also quite particular about food and looooves meatballs, chicken nuggets and tuna. Most wet cat food is good and some wet dog food is okay. She will go on a hunger strike if kibble is the only option. Although she sleeps like an elderly woman, she still loves long, fast walks through the neighborhood with lots of stops to sniff along the way. She also enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys - don't let her scare you off with her play growls! In her foster home, she got along well with the resident cat and seemed to enjoy meeting other dogs on walks, especially small dogs. Nya seems to be mostly house trained and will wait (and quietly whine) at the door until someone takes her out. She is old, though, and often leaks a little or has small accidents while asleep - washable potty pads saved the couches in her foster home. Nya is also touch sensitive and doesn't like to be picked up or randomly snuggled. While initially standoffish, she does like to snuggle and get pets once she's warmed up to you (and in the mood)!
