My Story
Female, 1.5 years old, 31 lbs
Personality: snuggler, smart, playful, loyal, goofy/funny, trustworthy, energetic, and affectionate.
Nugget is such an affectionate little girl who loves to sniff and snuggle and kiss her friends. She's incredibly smart and playful, and enjoys adventures! She is such a fan of playing with dog toys that she finds digging in the toy bin to be an exciting activity. Nugget also enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park and trying to chase the occasional squirrel while out on a walk. She also loves human attention of any kind, especially belly rubs. She is loyal, bonds quickly to her human, and provides endless cuddles. Chewing on bully sticks is an essential part of her pre-nap ritual!
Nugget is a smart girl who hasn't had accidents inside the home. This good girl is well behaved and can be left alone with free run of the house -- Nugget simply waits by the door for her humans to come back home and greets them with a tail wag! She's food-motivated and is doing well with learning words like sit, down, and of course treat!
Nugget takes a little while to warm up to new people and places, but once she does, she's so affectionate. This gal thrives on a predictable routine that includes lots of walks and mental stimulation to get out her energy. Because of this, she would do best in a home without young children. Nugget can't wait to find her furever humans! Apply today to meet her!

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
