My Story

All dogs adopted through Troy Animal Rescue Project will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and heartworm negative before adoption (age appropriate). All dogs are given monthly flea/tick preventative, monthly heartworm preventative (age appropriate), and are dewormed regularly. Dogs adopted through Troy Animal Rescue Project are microchipped. Adoption fee is $100. Home visit and vet reference required. Applications can be put in online at https://troyanimalrescueproject.org/adopt/ . ***WE DO NOT DO SAME DAY ADOPTIONS*** Adoption Process: Fill out the adoption application on our website (see above). You can choose up to three pets to meet. We will review your vet reference and do a virtual home visit. You will be contacted within 24-48 hours on weekdays - We are not able to start processing applications on the weekends due to vets offices being closed. To Help Speed Up Approval : ***If you live in a rental property, we will need a copy of the lease to complete your application. The lease must state that the rental property allows pets. ***If you have had a pet within the last two years, please put the vet that you used previously as your vet reference. Make sure to include the person's name that the vet reference is under if it is someone other than the person applying. ***If you have never owned a pet or if it has been over two years, please put a personal reference (someone who knows you will care for the pet) instead of a vet. Once the initial process is completed, we will set up an appointment to meet the pet(s) that you are interested in. These appointments can be made on weekdays or weekends - and after 5 pm subject to availablity of staff. Once the meet and greet is completed, the pet that is chosen will have an appointment made for final vetting and/or final vet check. This is to ensure that all our pets are adopted out completely healthy. Once the vet check is completed, the pet can go home. The address for our rescue center is 34 County Road 2266, Brundidge, AL 36010. We are not open to the public without appointment. Questions can be emailed to [email protected] or call 334-508-2367 (this is a cell phone - if it goes to voicemail, please either leave a message or text).
